Our Process, Credentials, and 3-Year Warranty

When Connecticut homeowners hire a painting company, the real questions aren’t about color, they’re about protection, prep, clarity, timelines, and accountability. This page covers all four: how every Junior’s project runs from first walkthrough to final coat, what our credentials mean in practice, and exactly how our 3-year workmanship warranty works.

Our 3-Year Written Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind our work with a 3-year written workmanship warranty on qualifying residential painting projects in Connecticut. The terms are clear and fair so every homeowner knows exactly what’s covered, what isn’t, and how to request service if something comes up.

Warranty term: Three (3) years from the project’s substantial completion date, documented on the final invoice and closeout paperwork.

What's Covered Under This Warranty

  • Peeling, blistering, or flaking caused by improper surface prep or application
  • Adhesion failure where coating separates from a properly prepared substrate
  • Premature cracking caused by application or workmanship issues (not by building movement)
  • Visible finish uniformity defects inconsistent with professional standards, as documented at project completion

How We Resolve Warranty Claims

At our discretion, we will repair and recoat the affected area(s) using comparable materials and application methods, at no labor cost to the homeowner, subject to the conditions and exclusions below. If an exact color match isn’t possible due to natural aging, UV exposure, or product reformulations, we will blend repairs professionally to minimize visual difference.

Conditions for Warranty Coverage

To keep the warranty fair for both sides, the following conditions apply:

  • Normal maintenance: The surface must be reasonably maintained, gutters functioning, chronic leaks addressed, proper ventilation in high-humidity rooms.
  • No unapproved alterations: The warranted area must not have been sanded, aggressively pressure-washed, patched, modified, or coated by another contractor after our completion.
  • Non-abrasive cleaning: Surfaces must be cleaned with non-abrasive methods, no harsh chemicals or scraping that could damage the coating.
  • Prompt notice: Notify us within 30 days of first noticing a potential warranty issue.

What's Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear, fading, or minor chalking from sun and UV exposure
  • Structural movement settling, expansion or contraction, wood movement, nail pops unrelated to coating application
  • Moisture issues not caused by our workmanship roof, flashing, or plumbing leaks; ice dams; trapped moisture; poor ventilation; efflorescence
  • Substrate failures such as rotted wood, failing prior coatings, or concealed damage not visible during evaluation, or repairs declined in the original scope
  • Damage caused by third parties other trades, tenants, pets, movers or weather events and vandalism
  • Acts of God, including flooding, severe storms, hurricanes, and similar extreme weather events
  • Material-only issues covered by manufacturer warranties (we can provide documentation; manufacturer terms apply)

How to Request Warranty Service

To request service under the warranty, email or text us with:

  1. Your name and project address
  2. Approximate project completion date
  3. A brief description of the issue
  4. Clear photos (one wide shot, one close-up)

We’ll respond within 5 business days to schedule an on-site inspection. If the issue is covered, we’ll propose a repair plan and a scheduled date for the work.

Access and scheduling: Warranty work is performed during normal business hours. Exterior warranty work depends on weather conditions and product cure requirements.

Our Credentials and Standards

Licensed & Insured

Junior's is a fully licensed and insured Connecticut residential painting company, EPA RRP-certified for lead-safe work in pre-1978 homes. Our coverage protects the homeowner, the property, and the project, especially when ladders, multi-day schedules, and prep-heavy work are involved.

Written Scope

Every Junior's project includes a written, itemized scope, what we're doing, where, and how. Prep, repairs, primers, finish coats, and cleanup are all spelled out before any work begins, so comparing estimates is straightforward and there are no surprises mid-project.

Local Accountability

You're not dealing with rotating franchise crews or subcontractors. Junior is on every project, the same crew works every job, and you always know who's responsible for the work and who to call if anything comes up during or after the project.

Our 5-Step Process From First Walkthrough to Final Coat

No surprises. Every Junior’s project follows the same five steps, so you always know what’s happening, why, and what comes next.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Process & Warranty

Yes. Junior’s is fully licensed and insured for residential painting work across Connecticut, with EPA RRP certification for lead-safe work in pre-1978 homes.

Yes. Every project starts with a written, itemized estimate, never a one-line ‘lump sum.’ The scope outlines prep, repairs, primers, finish coats, and cleanup, so you can compare it fairly against other quotes.

Workmanship-related issues like peeling, adhesion failure, premature cracking, and finish uniformity defects all caused by application. Full conditions and exclusions are listed in the warranty section above.

Common exclusions include normal wear and fading, structural movement (settling, wood movement, nail pops), moisture issues not caused by workmanship, and third-party damage. See the full exclusions list above for details.

Send us your project address, approximate completion date, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos. We’ll respond within 5 business days to schedule an on-site inspection, and confirm the repair plan if the issue is covered.

Yes. Based in Fairfield County, we schedule projects in all 8 Connecticut counties, Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New London, Tolland, and Windham.

No. We don’t add “out-of-area” fees. Pricing is based on the actual scope of work and prep needs never on distance.
